Bristol Motor Speedway: Post-Race
No. 1 Cessna/McDonald’s Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Start: 20th
Finish: 29th
Standings: 22nd (138 points behind 16th; final playoff spot)

Notes:

  • On lap 55 McMurray radioed to the crew about a vibration, which the team assessed during the competition caution on lap 61 and required lengthy repairs off of pit road.
  • McMurray returned to the race 61 laps down, however he was able to continue to the end of the race.
  • The caution flag was shown nine times for a total of 70 laps, the lead changed 19 times among nine drivers

McMurray quotes:

“It stinks to have issues so early in the race like that, however our guys did a good job of making a quick repair and getting us back out as best we could. We were able to continue on and still make up some laps and positions. Just a tough day and bad luck. The Cessna/McDonald’s Chevy was pretty good all day, even after making repairs, it’s just too late after going that many laps down to make much of a difference. Looking forward to a weekend off before returning to action at Darlington.”
