“It stinks to have issues so early in the race like that, however our guys did a good job of making a quick repair and getting us back out as best we could. We were able to continue on and still make up some laps and positions. Just a tough day and bad luck. The Cessna/McDonald’s Chevy was pretty good all day, even after making repairs, it’s just too late after going that many laps down to make much of a difference. Looking forward to a weekend off before returning to action at Darlington.”
MENCS teams will be off next weekend before heading to Darlington (S.C.) Raceway for the Southern 500 on Sunday, Sep. 2. NBC Sports, MRN affiliates and SiriusXM NASCAR Channel 90 will have live coverage beginning at 6 p.m. ET.
