PHOENIX (XFINITY) post-race
No. 1 DC Solar Chevrolet Camaro
- McMurray made his first NXS start in over four years (143 races) on Saturday. His last start came Sept. 2013 at Richmond International Raceway
- The finish was McMurray’s 32nd career top-five finish in the NXS and his first top-five in the series since Sept. 2010
- The race was red-flagged twice for rain showers and the caution flag was shown four times for a total of 24 laps.
- The lead changed 10 times among six drivers
“I had a lot of fun today,” said McMurray. “The guys did a great job making adjustments to the car and we were really fast. I had to drive back through the field after getting off pit sequence with the rain delays, but it was a lot of fun to drive. I really want to say thanks to DC Solar for allowing me the chance to run a few of these Xfinity Series races this season. I’m looking forward to doing it again in a few weeks at Texas (Motor Speedway).”
