Texas Motor Speedway: Post-Race
No. 1 Sherwin-Williams Chevrolet Camaro ZL1
Start: 20th
Finish: 19th
Standings: 21st

Notes:

  • McMurray was caught speeding on pit road during the first pit stop of the day and forced to restart at the back of the field.
  • McMurray raced between 15th and 20th most of the day, but never could overcome a tight-handling race car to make up significant track position over many long green flag runs.
  • The caution flag was shown eight times for a total of 37 laps.
  • The lead changed 16 times among seven drivers.

McMurray quotes:

“I felt like we had a decent Sherwin-Williams Chevy early in the race. I got caught speeding on the first pit stop that sent us to the back of the field. Once we got further back in traffic there were some really long green-flag runs that cost us an opportunity to make adjustments and we end up losing position on the lead lap. We never really caught an opportunity to get the lucky dog or wave-around to regain position back on the lead lap and make up much more track position in the end.”
