Jamie McMurray’s Cup Series record at the 2.66-mile Talladega Superspeedway:
31 Cup starts
2 Wins
8 Top-5 finishes
9 Top-10 finishes
20.0 Average Finish

  • McMurray made his first Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start in October of 2002, filling in for the injured Sterling Marlin.
  • McMurray has two Cup Series victories at Talladega including, most recently, October of 2013.
  • McMurray finished second in this race, the Geico 500, in 2018.
  • McMurray suffered a tire failure that resulted into a spectacular wreck in the second practice session on Friday, and despite qualifying 27th, will start Sunday’s race at the rear of the field, since the No. 1 had to go to a backup car.

“Talladega is mostly about survival and trying to be in contention in the last few laps. This is one of those places that you can run up front all day and have an issue late and finish really bad and vice versa, hang around the back all day and finish top-10. We were able to score a runner-up finish in this race last year and hopefully we can get things on track with a good run and score some stage points on Sunday. I’m looking forward to the challenge with our DC Solar Camaro.”
