No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet SS

Jamie McMurray will make his 30th MENCS career start at Daytona International Speedway (DIS) this weekend. McMurray, the 2007 winner of the Coke Zero 400 at DIS has completed 4,629 of 5,103 (90.7%) laps of competition and has led 52 laps. He has an average start of 20.2 and an average finish of 23.7 along with three top-five and five top-10 finishes.

McMurray has won both the Daytona 500 and the Coke Zero 400 at DIS and is one of only four active drivers (Jimmie Johnson, Kevin Harvick, and Dale Earnhardt Jr.) to have ever won both races.

“I think like any superspeedway race, Daytona is just about survival. You just need to remain patient, run your own race and try to be around at the end. It’s all about being in the right line at the right time to try to fight for the victory. This is a race that just about anyone can win, so hopefully we can run a clean race and stay in contention until the finish.”
