Jamie McMurray finished sixth in Sunday’s Cam-Am 500 at Phoenix International Raceway. The sixth-place finish was McMurray’s 17th top-10 finish of the season.

  • With the reseeded drivers point standings, McMurray moved up to 12th with one race remaining.
  • The race was slowed by caution seven times for 41 laps
  • The lead changed nine times among five drivers

“We were really good about three quarters of the way through the race. We had one bad run there with the way the sequence on tire strategies worked, and didn’t quite have enough track position to stay out.  So, we had to pit and take a little bit of a gamble. I think we did pretty good to hang on with the two tires that we took. The car was really fast and it’s really hard to pass here, but we passed quite a few cars today, so I am really proud of our Cessna Chevrolet SS team.”
