Jamie McMurray Clinches Third Straight Postseason Berth at RichmondDespite and up-and-down Saturday night in the Federated Auto Parts 400 at Richmond Raceway, Jamie McMurray and the No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet salvaged a 14th-place finish, which was good enough to clinch a berth in the 2017 Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series post season. This marks the third straight season that McMurray has qualified for the playoffs, and the second straight where both Ganassi Racing teams qualified. Teammate Kyle Larson won the Federated Auto Parts 400 on Saturday. The NASCAR postseason begins this weekend at Chicagoland Speedway.

“We struggled a little bit tonight with the handling on the McDonald’s Chevy,” said McMurray. “There were some really long green flag runs, so that doesn’t give you much chance to work on the car. The guys did a good job on pit road and helped gain some spots a couple of times. Our cars have just been awesome all year long and it’s been the best season I have had, as far as the most consistent, and that just comes from them giving us really good cars. I’m looking forward to getting the Playoffs started next week”.
