Jamie McMurray drove the No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet to a 13th-place finish in the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway. McMurray finished the season ranked 12th in the championship point standings, his best finish in the last three years of making the NASCAR Playoffs.
“We had a fast car tonight, especially in the later stages of the race,” said McMurray. “We just couldn’t get a break with track position. If the race had stayed green I think that we could have had a top-five finish with the strategy that we were on, but that just didn’t work out for us. Our guys have done a great job and we were very consistent all year. I look forward to getting a few weeks off before we start thinking about 2018.”
