No. 1 Cessna Chevrolet

Jamie McMurray will make his seventh MENCS start at Kentucky Speedway this week. In six previous starts he has one top-five and two top-10 finishes and has completed 1,516 of 1,602 (94.6%) laps. He has an average start of 17.5 and average finish of 18.5, his best finish was a runner-up result in 2013.

All of McMurray’s MENCS starts at Kentucky Speedway have come in the No. 1 Chip Ganassi Racing Chevrolet, dating back to 2011. Although he did make two NASCAR XFINITY Series starts there in 2001 & 2002 where he finished 10th and sixth, respectively.

“We have had really fast cars at all of the mile-and-a-half tracks this year, so hopefully Kentucky Speedway will be no exception. I think this race came down to a fuel mileage race last year so it will be interesting to see how that turns out with the stages this year. We participated in a Goodyear test there a few weeks ago and I felt like we had a really good test. We will have a new right-side tire for this weekend, so I’m looking forward to getting there and having a solid weekend.”
