No. 1 McDonald’s Chevrolet SS

Jamie McMurray will make his 21st career Monster Energy NASCAR Cup Series start at Kansas Speedway on Saturday in the Go Bowling 400. In his 20 previous starts McMurray has scored three top-10 finishes, led 53 laps and completed 4,985 or 5,290 (94.2%) total laps.

Entering the weekend, McMurray is fifth in the championship point standings, which is the highest he’s been in the standings entering the 11th race of the season. McMurray has averaged a starting position of 7.6 and a finishing position of 8.3 on 1.5-mile intermediate tracks, such as Kansas, during the 2017 campaign.

“I am looking forward to heading to Kansas this weekend,” said McMurray, whose hometown of Joplin, Mo. is only 2.5 hours south of the speedway. “We had a great finish and survived Talladega in addition to gaining some ground in the point standings. We have had fast cars at all of the mile-and-half tracks so far this season, so I expect the same for our McDonald’s Chevy this weekend. It will be fun to race under the lights on Saturday night and then enjoy a Mother’s Day at home with the family on Sunday. Although I don’t have family in the area any longer, this is close to where I grew up and I usually see some old friends, it’s nice to catch up and see some familiar faces.”
